Chief Investment Officer
Paul Baumbach is Mallard Financial Partners’ Chief Investment Officer, having started his career providing financial advice to individuals in 1993, and founding Mallard in 1996. Paul loves making complex investment or economic topics accessible, explaining them at every possible level, from very digestible to impossibly detailed. This lends itself well to his leadership of Mallard’s Investment Committee, which meets regularly to evaluate market conditions, develop investment strategies for clients’ portfolios, and generate regular communications for clients.
Paul started in computer science, earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree from Villanova University, but transitioned to the finance field taking the initiative to earn a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), a ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), and a CFP (Certified Financial Planner). Paul has since narrowed his focus on investments and maintains his CFA certification to serve Mallards’ clients. Paul prides himself on his ability to navigate through not only the highs and lows of the markets but through clients’ careers and lives as well. Bringing the wisdom of Wall Street to Main Street and Mallard's clients is Paul's passion.
Paul splits his time between Mallard and serving as a Delaware State Representative, a third career he began in November 2012. When not working, he enjoys playing tennis, hiking, road cycling, camping, and reading.
Paul is also very proud of every one of Mallard’s employees past and present, and the role that Mallard has played in their careers.
