What’s the difference between fee-only vs. fee-based financial advisors?

No Commissions. No Hidden Fees. Just Your Needs.

Fee-only fiduciary advisors are obligated to make financial planning and investment management recommendations in their clients' best interest. Unlike fee-based financial planners—who can earn a commission when they sell certain financial products—fee-only advisors are paid directly for their services, eliminating a potential conflict of interest.

How do you handle my investments?

Our investment committee meets regularly to assess the market and apply our updated guidelines to our clients’ portfolios.

There are no cookie cutters at Mallard when it comes to investment management. Your account is managed specifically for your needs. We also consider the tax impact of every move we recommend.

Do I process my trades??

Nope, we'll take care of that for you!

We process all of your trades in-house as a part of our services. Leave the work to us.

What software do you use for investment management?

We use industry-leading portfolio management software. We're linked to Schwab and other major custodians. Schwab is the primary custodian for our client's accounts, so every transaction is tracked and accurately reported.

How do you do against the DOW or S&P?

Since most portfolios are not 100% US Large Stocks comparing your diversified portfolio to these indices alone is like comparing apples and oranges.

If you decide to have us manage your accounts, we'll create an appropriate benchmark of peer securities for your specific risk level, so that you can compare your portfolio to a relevant benchmark.

Who are your typical customers?

Mallard Financial Partners works with clients in all walks of life, including individuals, families, retirees, small business owners, and nonprofits.

What types of accounts do you manage?

We can manage your individual, joint, trust, IRA, and rollover accounts. We also offer guidance on outside accounts—including 529 plans, 401(k), and 403(b)s—and can help you roll over employer-sponsored plans. Learn more about our services here.

How much money do I need to become a client?

We have services for portfolios of any size.

Our clients' portfolios range from about $20,000 to over $10 million.

What does the financial planning process look like if I start working with you?

At Mallard Financial Partners, we pride ourselves on meeting clients where they are and customizing our process to meet your needs.

During the first year as a client, the average relationship typically involves three 45-60 minute meetings. We'll get to know one another, process account opening paperwork, and organize financial management strategies. We will develop an ongoing plan and document your needs in an Investment Policy Statement.

We usually revisit your financial plan each year or after significant life changes. Some people find it valuable to meet more frequently to review their financial planning. Just let us know what you need, and we're happy to accommodate!

When are your office hours?

Our typical office hours are Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. However, we can sometimes accommodate evenings and weekends for special circumstances.

Do I need a mask for in-person meetings?

Nope! We don't currently require masks for in-person meetings, but we're happy to wear them if it makes you feel more comfortable. All our employees are vaccinated against COVID-19, and we have masks available at our office if you prefer wearing one.

Do you offer virtual meetings?

Absolutely! We have clients in over 20 States, and many of our clients prefer virtual meetings.

How do I get started?

It's easy! Give us a call or send us an email to schedule your no-obligation discovery session!
